My mum gave me these two beautiful vintage rings. The one with the pearl was her aunt's and the other one was hers from her younger years.

Hand-painting, lace and patterns

The fall/winter 2014 Burberry Prorsum collection is inspired by the Bloomsbury Group of artists ((here's more info about them) and it's full of hand-painted flowers and leaves, lace, geometrical patterns and great shades of colors!

About Personal Style

Colors, designs, patterns, fabrics, materials....

We're exposed to a big amount of images of clothes, accessories, shoes, bags, as well as the actual things.

Different seasons, occassions and.... style!

And here's the big question:

What should we do with all these? Copy the look on the cover of the magazine or the one on the doll in the shop window? 

Well, I think of it as designers and brands make suggestions to us on what to wear (and practically each season they choose what will be available for you to buy). After that, you should have your own criteria and form a style of your own. 

Find shapes and colors that fit you nicely, patterns that you like, go for comfort or just wear something because it looks great and you love the design (ok there might be more comfortable clothes but who cares?!), find what's best for you. And mix and match clothes according to your inspiration, like every look it's a canvas and you pick the theme, the materials you're going to use and the colors...!

Fairies on the catwalk

In 2014, fairies and female figures came out of  Pre-Raphaelite paintings and got straight on the catwalk for Valentino's RTW Fall 2014 Collection..!

See-through fabrics, butterflies and flowers in dark earthly colors with a pinch of brighter ones.

My three favorite basics

At around this time of the summer, each year, I start thinking about autumn and the extra layer of clothing we start wearing when the first lower temperatures start. So, I thought of doing this post about my three favorite basics . . . .

I love black! I think of it as a great base for combinations with other colors, with guaranteed results.

My three favorite basic pieces are the long black cardigan, the simple black tank top and the all time classic black leggings.

The black top is great with a patterned bottom, the long cardigan seems a little more cool and bohemian than its shorter version and the leggings are just an all time classic every day piece!

The Cable Strap Shopper Bag

 While I was going through the pages of the latest Harper's Bazaar one great idea caught my eye!

It reminded me of Barbie photographed with shopping bags in her hands, or with real women in the same posture.

I loved the new Cable Strap Shopper Bag by Balenciaga, for the Fall 2014 RTW collection.

It's like the designer started from the idea of a paper shopping bag and created the same thing in an other permanent version.
